It’s now 9.20am and Ruby and I have just returned from a walk in the fields. We met a gentleman who was taking his two dogs for a walk, (a black Labrador called Alice and a cross bred Alsatian/Sheepdog) and he told me he was house sitting for his daughter who was on holiday. He had a familiar face, and I said I recognised him from somewhere. He said he used to live on North Bank Road, (which is where we used to take Ruby for walks during the Autumn and Winter) but that he and his wife had retired to Withernsea about a year ago. The sun is still shining which bodes well for Ruby having a swim!
Returning down the field, who should we encounter but sex mad Jack (the mongrel who unsuccessfully tried to increase his progeny with Ruby when she was on heat [see blog entitled “The Joy(?) of Sex” Tuesday 9th June]). He is obviously a fickle beast as he totally ignored Ruby and made straight for Alice. I have bad news for him. Alice has been neutered!
We (Ruby & I) collected Mollie & Tom at about 2.30pm and headed for the Church to sort out, count and catalogue a whole pile of music. Mollie emptied the shelves, Tom carried the envelopes of music across to a table and I sorted them into various categories, alphabetically by composers. Tom brought each individual envelope back to the table where Mollie and I counted the copies and then Mollie inserted them back into their individual envelopes and re stacked them back into the music library shelves. Ruby oversaw the whole procedure.
Tom, carefully counting copies of "The Daniel Jazz"
Mollie, more classically inclined, counting copies of Vivaldi's "Gloria"
