Miffy is no more

The picture above shows Miffy, our pet rabbit being cuddled by Hannah our youngest daughter. We got Miffy when she was about a year old, from a lady in Silsden. Over the years we have had her she had become a family pet and a much loved rabbit. She was called Snowball when we got her, but goodness only knows why! So we called her after the rabbit character in the childrens story books - Miffy.

Ruby, our chocolate labrador and Miffy would play quite happily together when they were in the garden. I think that Ruby looked on her as a puppy, as she would gently lick her. Miffy never seemed to be bothered by this treatment, and I suspect she enjoyed the attention!

She regularly had the run of the garden, after we had built a rabbit proof fence around it, but even then there was an occasion when she disappeared for a couple of days. We eventually found her between our garage and next doors garden. There were also the times when we had to round her up from the other neighbours garden by dropping a clothes basket over her to catch her!

She had been known to take the occasional walk down the path outside our house and finish up in our adjoining neighbours garden - hence the clothes basket round ups!

Sadly she died yesterday - presumably of old age.
