Holidays 2009 - Isle of Arran - Part One

We arrived at Brodick on a glorious Saturday evening, with a warm glow lighting up the Arran Skyline.

The following morning (Sunday 27th September) we were welcomed by a crystal clear day and blue skies. Holy Isle sat in Lamlash Bay, just a few hundred metres from our studio flat.

An early morning yacht graced the scene.

It was on Sunday morning that Ruby was re acquainted with the flat owners Golden Retriever – Lucy, and during the week they became great friends.

Lucy spent as much time in our studio flat as she did with her owners, and Ruby spent time with Lucy in her house next door.

On Sunday we went into Brodick.

Monday morning dawned somewhat cloudy, and the top of Holy Isle began to disappear into the mist.

However by the time we reached Sannox, the sun had begun to break through the clouds and a brilliant rainbow appeared.

It was here that Ruby first became friendly with the swans, which she swam near, until the male decided to rise in the water and flap his wings at her!

Ruby enjoyed lounging in the garden and playing with twigs which were in plentiful supply.

Lamlash Bay where we were staying on the Isle of Arran is a wide sweeping curve which encircles Holy Isle.

There are always plenty of yachts moored in the bay because this is the headquarters of the Yachting Club which is based here!
